Our Curriculum in Action in 2026/27!

Look at all the exciting learning happening this Autumn term!

What's been Happening in Nursery and Reception?

10.07.26 Sports Week in Nursery!

Nursery have thoroughly enjoyed taking part in Sports Week this week! On Monday, the children had so much fun on the bouncy castles. They bounced so high, and a couple of the children excitedly said, "Look, I'm flying just like a scary dragon!" It was a very hot but exciting day, and everyone had lots of smiles and laughter.

On Thursday, we enjoyed a calmer activity by taking part in a relaxing yoga session. This gave the children a chance to cool down after the warm weather and helped them practise mindfulness and stretching. They all felt very relaxed afterwards and enjoyed taking some quiet time to rest their bodies and minds.

The children had a brilliant week taking part in all the different activities. They showed great enthusiasm, confidence, and teamwork throughout the week, and it was wonderful to see everyone joining in and having fun together.

What's been Happening in Blossom Room?

17.4.26 A wonderful week in Blossom!

This week, the children are using the book The Gruffalo to support them with colourful semantics. They have been practising how to use: who, doing, what and where. They are doing very well!

What's been Happening in Year 1 and Year 2?

11.09.26 Settling into Year 1

What a great week we have had in Year 1! The children are becoming more settled into their new routines and have been working incredibly hard. It has been wonderful to see their confidence growing as they take part in some amazing learning.

In English, we have been reading The Girl at the Front of the Class. We have been exploring the characters and using similes to write descriptive sentences. The children have enjoyed thinking carefully about how we can use interesting language to bring our descriptions to life.

In Maths, we have been developing our understanding of number and exploring the different ways we can represent and make numbers. The children have been enjoying using practical resources and sharing their ideas about numbers in different ways.

We are so proud of how well everyone has settled into Year 1 and all the fantastic learning they have achieved this week. Well done, Year 1!

What's been Happening in Year 3 and Year 4?

11.09.26 Ukelele lessons in Year 3

Year 3 have an amazing opportunity to learn the ukulele for 10 weeks every Friday with music teacher, Rastko, from BEAT. There will be another update when they reach the end of their music lessons. Watch this space!

What's been Happening in Year 5 and Year 6?

11.09.26 Our first week in Year 5!

It has been lovely start for Year 5. We have been busy settling back into school routines - including some fantastic singing in our singing assembly. The children have particularly enjoyed taking part in a range of settling-in activities, giving them the opportunity to reconnect with friends, get to know their new routines and share their interests. We have also been impressed with the creativity shown in their self-portraits, which have made a fantastic start to their new Art books.
